Change-N-Go brings oil change services to its clients whether they're at work or at home.It's been a year and a half since James Chapman found himself doing what a lot of people do - putting off an oil change.
"I got tired of going to get my oil change and waiting in line on my lunch break or giving up part of my Saturday," he said.
That's when the Red Bank resident decided to solve his problem by starting a small business. The result is Change-N-Go, a mobile oil change service that comes to clients at their home or work. He said he researched similar businesses in other markets before creating his own and launching it in Chattanooga last October.
Since launching Change-N-Go, he said he's already had repeat customers and begun servicing some vehicle fleets for local businesses.
"One way we're doing our service better is through technology," said Chapman. "We have a mobile app."
Clients can either request an oil change appointment through the app, website or by calling. Once the appointment is set, the Change-N-Go van and its technician come to the client wherever they are. Clients can pay with a credit card and those who are working leave their keys with the Change-N-Go technician. Once the oil change is complete, the technician returns the client's keys or leaves them at the employer's front desk.
In addition to changing the oil, Chapman said the technician does a full inspection on the vehicle, tops off the car's fluids and puts air in the tires if they need it. The technician will let a client know if there is anything obviously wrong with the car, like worn out brake pads or a loose belt.
"You know we're telling you the truth, because we're not making a profit off it," Chapman said. "The customer feedback lets us know we are making an impact in people's lives by saving their time and money. I would encourage people to try it out. They won't be disappointed."
