MURFREESBORO - A 4-year-old Smyrna boy drowned at a birthday party Saturday at a Rutherford County home, according to a press release.
Evan Sayvone died at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital, according to the release from the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office. The boy apparently went outside during the party, got around the pool's decking and entered the water at the Piccancle Hills Drive home. Another child discovered Evan in the water.
"He had been in there probably several minutes," Detective Lt. Todd Sparks was quoted in the release.
