COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - Special agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have obtained indictments for a Celina, Tenn., couple accused of murdering a woman previously reported as missing.
At the request of former 13th District Attorney General Randy York, TBI special agents began investigating the death of Fonzie Loretta Bowmer on Aug. 6. Earlier that day, officers from the Livingston Police Department discovered remains later confirmed to belong to the Livingston, Tenn., woman, whom family reported as missing in February.
During the course of the investigation, agents working alongside detectives from Livingston police developed information which led to Robert Tim Covey and his wife, Patricia Lynn Gentry, being identified as those responsible for Bowmer's death.
On Tuesday, the Overton County grand jury returned indictments for the couple, charging Covey, 40, with one count of premeditated first-degree murder, one count of felony murder, one count of aggravated burglary, and one count of theft over $1,000. Gentry, 42, faces one count of accessory after the fact, two counts of false report, and one count of theft over $1,000.
At the time of this release, both remained in the custody of the Overton County sheriff on unrelated charges.
