NASHVILLE - Senate Republicans this morning nominated Senate Speaker Ron Ramsey for a fifth term as the Chamber's top Official.

Given Republicans' 28-5 dominance over Democrats, Ramsey, of Blountville, is virtually assured of being elected speaker when the General Assembly convenes in January.

Ramsey had no opposition within the caucus.

Majority leader Mark Norris of Collierville was also re elected without opposition as was Republican Caucus Chairman Bill Ketron of Murfreesboro.

Majority House Republicans hold their elections later this morning.
