Man steals medicine from Chattanooga Rite Aid in armed robbery

A man stole medicine in an armed robbery at the Rite Aid on Highway 153 Sunday morning, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

The suspect approached the pharmacy counter around 11:30 a.m. and presented a note to the pharmacist before brandishing a handgun, the release said. He then reportedly jumped the counter and fled on foot with an unknown amount of medication.

He is described as a white man between 35-45 years old, 5'6", approximately 130 pounds, with scruffy facial hair, a skinny build, and wearing a black hat, a hoodie and blue jeans.

No one was injured during the robbery.
