ATLANTA - Author Salman Rushdie is set to hold two public events at Emory University during his February visit to the school.
Rushdie plans to give a lecture about the so-called "wonder tales" of the East on Feb. 16. He's also set to discuss current and emerging writers in India during the 5th annual India summit on Feb. 17.
Rushdie is a University Distinguished Professor at Emory. He teaches in the school's College of Arts and Sciences and has placed his papers with the university's library. The archive includes his manuscripts, drawings, journals, letters and photos, as well as digital materials.
He has authored 11 novels, including "Midnight's Children," which was awarded the Booker Prize in 1981. He published his memoir "Joseph Anton" in 2012 and has received numerous awards.
