ALABASTER, Ala. - Federal authorities say a small airplane has crashed into a residential area in Alabaster.
Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said in an email that the single-engine Bellanca aircraft crashed around 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Bergen says preliminary information indicates only the pilot was on board. ABC 33/40 reports that police say the pilot was taken to a hospital.
Bergen says no injuries were reported to people on the ground.
The FAA is investigating, and the National Transportation Safety Board will determine probable cause.
