Hamilton County attorney Michael Lee West has been temporarily suspended from the practice of law by the Tennessee Supreme Court because he misappropriated funds to his own use and "his continued practice of law poses a threat of substantial harm to the public."
A news release from the court's board of professional responsibility said the suspension will continue until its dissolution or modification by the Supreme Court. It was stated that West may for "good cause request dissolution or modification of the suspension by petition to the Supreme Court."
