Winds blow Hooch out of the water

The Head of the Hooch race set to take place in the Tennessee River has been canceled for the day due to strong winds.

Race Director Daniel Wolf said the strong wind made the river unsafe for rowers all day and prevented any race from taking place. The decision was made this afternoon to officially cancel the day's events.

Athletes and coaches said they were disappointed, but understand and respect the decision made.

The race is expected to resume tomorrow morning as calmer winds are predicted.
