The Hisscock family visit at the Chattanooga National Cemetery on Sunday and photograph the grave of one of their ancestors who fought in the Civil War and died in Chattanooga.In honor of Veterans Day, several events across the region today will honor veterans and those in active military service.
Chattanooga
• A Veterans Day ceremony is scheduled at the Chattanooga National Cemetery at 1200 Bailey Ave. at 11 a.m. today.
• Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park will offer free admittance today in honor of Veterans Day and current U.S. Armed Forces members.
East Ridge
• East Ridge will host a Vietnam Memorial Dedication Service in front of City Hall at 1517 Tombras Ave. at 11 a.m. today. A monument has been erected in front of City Hall with the names of seven local men who died in action.
Cleveland
• Bradley County Sheriff Eric Watson will be the guest speaker at a Veterans Day ceremony at Garden Plaza, on the campus of Life Care Centers of America on Keith Street. The Sheriff will speak at 8:30 a.m. in the Community Room at Garden Plaza.
Georgia
• The Jericho Brass will perform in honor of Veterans Day at the Ringgold Depot at 7 p.m. tonight. The performance is a part of Ringgold's annual Fall Festival of Flags.
Alabama
• Little River Canyon National Preserve will offer free admission to the Canyon Mouth picnic area in Fort Payne, Ala. The fee is normally $3.
• Area Krystals today are offering a free sausage biscuit to veterans and active military personnel today from 6-10:30 a.m.
