Franklin road reopens where tanker truck burned - and more Chattanooga region news

FRANKLIN, Tenn. - Construction of a new bridge has been completed over Interstate 65 south of Nashville where a tanker truck exploded and caught fire three months ago.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation says the exit has been reopened to traffic at State Road 248 in Williamson County. Two lanes and a center turn lane were opened Tuesday.

The truck driver was killed in the crash Aug. 15 at Franklin.

Commissioner John Schroer said demolishing two bridges and building a new one in 102 days is a record for the agency.

TDOT said crews will continue working on the interchange, which is being modified as part of a $46 million project to widen I-65 from State Road 248 to State Road 840. The project is expected to be finished by June 2016.

Huntsville man faces federal pornography charges

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - A man faces federal pornography charges after federal prosecutors say he got minors to engage in sexually explicit conduct at a Huntsville dance studio.

The U.S. attorney's office in Birmingham says 42-year-old Jeremy Joseph Nelson of Huntsville was indicted Tuesday on federal charges of producing child pornography between 2012 and 2014 and with possessing child pornography showing children under 12.

It was not immediately clear whether Nelson had a lawyer.

He was arrested by the Alabama State Bureau of Investigation in October on state charges of producing child pornography by hiding cameras in the bathrooms of three Huntsville businesses. Jail records showed he was being held on $60,000 bail in the Madison County jail.
