1 teen dies in crash on Lookout Mountain

In accident on Lookout Mountain in Dade County Wednesday morning left one teen dead and one teen hospitalized.

Seventeen-year-old Logan Chase Dodson of Lookout Mountain was killed when his 1992 GMC pick-up ran off Burkhalter Gap Road and struck a utility pole and a tree. Dodson's passenger, 16-year-old Marcus Blake Shaw, was transported to Erlanger Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Dade County High School, where Dodson was a student, emailed a statement to students' families in the district.

It expressed sympathy for Dodson's family and said that counselors, staff and members of the Dade County Schools community would be available for students.

The release said schools would continue to follow normal scheduling.
