Otoniel Mejia FrancoA 41-year-old Calhoun, Ga., man was arrested on Monday on charges that he engage in sex acts with an 11-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy.
Otoniel Mejia Franco was charged after a report was filed in January alleging that he had engaged in the sex acts. The police conducted an investigation and were able to trace Franco's whereabouts and confirm that the charges merited an arrest, said Lt. Tony Pyle, of the Calhoun Police Department.
"It appears Franco had been in and out of the Calhoun area for the past several months," Pyle said. "We were able to trace his last known employer and after several weeks of surveillance, we located Franco working on a home in Spring Valley around 9 a.m. Monday."
Franco remained in the Gordon County Jail on Wednesday, facing charges of two counts of child molestation and one count of enticing a child for indecent purposes.
