Secretary of Defense Ash Carter, Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam, Sen. Lamar Alexander, Sen. Bob Corker, Rep. Chuck Fleischmann, Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus and City of Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke are expected to attend a memorial service for Chattanooga's fallen service members on August 15.
The ceremony, held by the Marine Forces Reserve, Navy Reserve and the city, will honor the fallen service members, express appreciation to the Chattanooga Police Department and emergency responders, and thank the community for its support.
The service is expected to start at 2 p.m. at McKenzie Arena. Small bags will be screened.
Attendance is limited to 8,500 seats on a first-come, first-serve basis.
