If you've ever wondered just where the most redneck cities in Georgia are, wonder no longer.

Ellijay ranks first in the state, according to a new study by RoadSnacks.net. The site claims the list is opinion based on facts and is meant as "infotainment."

The site says it looked for scientific data on a number of redneck stereotypes to create the rankings. The study weighed the number of high school graduates, dive bars, mobile home parks, tobacco and gun stores, plus Wal-Marts and Dollar Generals.

With a population of 1,530, Ellijay has the second most bars per capita in the state, the site says.

"Probably one of the most redneck presidents of all time, Jimmy Carter, has a cabin here," it claims. "Remember, his redneck brother Billy Carter once started a company called Billy Beer."

A few other regional towns also made the top ten list. Adairsville came in fourth, Chickamauga ranked ninth, and Dalton placed 12th.

Chickamauga's description says the town ranks second in Georgia for Wal-Marts per capita, third in tobacco stores, and fifth in mobile home parks. It's also 98 percent white.

Dalton was recently ranked the second least educated city in America.

Adairsville, the site says, is near the location of the annual Northern Georgia Redneck Games.
