The state transportation department is turning off its traffic cameras in Chattanooga Saturday, the day of the memorial for the 7/16 military members at McKenzie Arena.
TDOT spokeswoman Jennifer Flynn said the U.S. Secret Service ordered all the cameras turned off from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for security purposes.
The White House has said Vice President Joe Biden will attend the service, along with both Tennessee's U.S. senators; U.S. Rep. Chuck Fleischmann, Gov. Bill Haslam and Mayor Andy Berke.
Flynn said the camera feeds that show views of Chattanooga's interstates and state highways won't be accessible to the media or the public during this time.
