Chattanooga police say a 70-year-old woman was struck on Mississippi Ave. early this morning.
Laura Carden was found lying unresponsive in the 700 block of the road. She was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. According to witnesses, she was struck by a blue or silver sedan driven by a black male who left the scene.
The police department is asking anyone with information to call 423-698-2525. The vehicle's front end will likely be damaged.
There are no further details on the woman's condition at this time.
