The driver of a truck who died when he collided around 1 p.m. Wednesday with a train at the Walnut Grove Road crossing on the north end of Dayton, Tenn., has been identified as Cody Jensen of Rhea County, according to Dayton Police Department Lt. Jeff Hill.

Hill said Jensen arrived in his pickup truck at the crossing behind other vehicles that had stopped for the crossing arms that had lowered to block the tracks to traffic.

Hill said Jensen pulled around the vehicles ahead of him and went around the crossing arms into the path of a northbound Norfolk Southern train that struck and dragged the truck for some distance before it could stop.

Jensen was pronounced dead at the scene, Hill said.

No one else was injured.
