Man found dead in crashed car on Hixson Pike

Chattanooga police found a man dead in his car after a single-vehicle crash on Hixson Pike early Thursday morning.

Investigators say they do not think the man died in the accident, but the cause of death is awaiting the Hamilton County medical examiner's report, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

Police, who were notified around 5 a.m., said the vehicle was traveling south in the 4850 block of Hixson Pike when it veered off the road and hit some bushes and a wooden fence.
