The Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department evacuated a man and his child from a fire inside a home in the Oak Shadows subdivision in East Brainerd on Friday evening.
No injuries were reported, but Hamilton County EMS responded to the scene to evaluate the father and child. Neither was taken to the hospital.
Officials said the fire was accidental, and started on the second story of the home. Damages are estimated at $150,000.
