FORT PAYNE, Ala. - People who understand bats' vital role in keeping bug populations down and contributing to pollination are invited to make a bat house Saturday at DeSoto State Park near Fort Payne, Ala.

Only 10 kits are available per session, so pre-registration is required and each family can get only one kit.

Times are 10 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m. CDT. Admission and materials are free.
