10-year-old killed in 4-wheeler crash

A 10-year-old boy was killed and two older children injured in a four-wheeler crash Saturday, DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris said.

Thomas Brown, of Cross Creek died in the crash on County Road 391.

A unnamed 13-year-old girl from the Asbury community was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital, and 14-year-old Haley Brown, of Geraldine, was taken to the same hospital by ambulance Harris said.

The last update on the two girls was that they remain in serious condition.

Harris said it was a tragic accident.

"They were all getting ready to go back to school in a few weeks. We would like to ask everyone if you let your child ride or drive a 4-wheeler or motorcycle please make them wear a helmet. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the family members and friends of these young kids."
