Two locally owned and operated Supercuts stores will be offering $5 haircuts to all servicemen/women, both military personnel and law enforcement, through Wednesday, July 29, according to a news release.

The two participating locations are in East Brainerd at 1414 Jenkins Road and Red Bank at 3849 Dayton Boulevard.

The East Brainerd location is at the corner of Jenkins and East Brainerd next to Heritage Park. In Red Bank, the newly opened store is in the Bi-Lo Center at Dayton Boulevard and Morrison Springs Road.

"We love our city and our nation, and we want to honor those who risk their lives to serve and protect us," said Kamilla Boerema, the owner of both franchises.

Both locations always offer a discounted rate for those who serve in the military as well as for police officers and firefighters, the release said. The normal price for a haircut is $14; the everyday discounted rate for servicemen and women is $12.

"After the tragic events that occurred in Chattanooga last week, we felt compelled to do whatever we could to show our gratitude and respect to all military and law enforcement personnel. They are true heroes."
