A man arrived at Park Ridge East hospital by a personal vehicle suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his lower back on June 14, and on Thursday Keontae Kevaughn Howard was arrested and charged with attempted first degree murder in the incident.

Howard, sits in the Hamilton County Jail on a bond of $750,000, and is expected to appear before Judge Christine Sell on June 30. Police say he shot the man in the parking lot of the Rustic Village Apartments located on Central Drive.

The victim states that an altercation was taking place between three women in the parking lot, and that when he stepped in to intervene that Howard got out of a nearby vehicle and shot him, according to Howard's affidavit. The victim told police that Howard's girlfriend was one of the women in the fight.

After shooting the victim once, Howard allegedly chased the man around the vehicle attempting to shoot him again before running into the woods. Witnesses said they knew the shooter, but identified him by the name Keontae Bush. During the police's investigation they found that the Tennessee Crime Portal Database recognizes Keontae Bush and Keontae Howard as the same person.
