South Pittsburg man found dead in North Alabama

Authorities in Jackson County, Ala., are investigating the death of a South Pittsburg, Tenn., man as a homicide.

Jackson County Chief Deputy Rocky Harnen said in a news release that the body was found in an isolated area of County Road 208 in Bridgeport. The sheriff's office was notified about 3 a.m. and arrived to determine that the death was a homicide.

The victim has been identified as Dejion "D.J." Roberson, 21, according to the release.

No further information was immediately released, though Sheriff Chuck Phillips thanked police in Bridgeport and Stevenson, Ala., and Kimball and South PIttsburg, Tenn., as well as the Marion County, Tenn., Sheriff's Office for assisting in the case.
