Chattanooga State interviews for presidency begin

Four finalists vying to be Chattanooga State's next president are visiting campus this week to meet with faculty, staff, students and community members.

The finalists will take audience questions for one hour, followed by a public reception. Their schedules are as follows:

* On Monday: Dr. Kevin Pollock, current president of St. Clair Community College in Port Huron, Mich., was available at 2:30 p.m. in the humanities auditorium.

* Today: Dr. Karla Fisher, current vice president of academics at Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kan., will be available at 3:15 p.m. in Berry Auditorium. A reception will follow at 4:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Center for Business, Industry and Health building.

* Wednesday: Dr. Flora Tydings, current president of Athens Technical College in Georgia, will be available at 2:30 p.m. in the humanities auditorium. A reception will follow at 4 p.m. in the lobby of the Center for Business, Industry and Health building.

* Friday: Dr. Roger Ramsammy, current provost and chief academic officer at Northern Virginia College's Manassas Campus, will be available at 2:30 p.m. in the humanities auditorium. A reception will follow at 4 p.m. in the lobby of the Center for Business, Industry and Health building.

A selection committee narrowed the pool of presidential candidates from 70 to these four. Tennessee Board of Regents Chancellor John Morgan is expected to choose a permanent president by June.
