Chattanooga police responded to a report of a person shot at 500 South Kelly Street at about 10 p.m. Friday.
The police found the victim with non-life threatening injuries.
He refused to be taken in an ambulance but was driven to a local hospital.
The victim said he heard a gunshot but could not tell what direction it came from then realized he had been shot.
Police do not have a suspect at this time.
They ask anyone with information regarding this crime to call 423-698-2525. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
