Hamilton County Commissioners just approved $70,481 in discretionary funding to pay for a playground at East Brainerd Elementary School, interactive boards at Chattanooga School of the Liberal Arts and a digital sign at the South Chattanooga Recreation Center.
The expenditures were requested by Commissioners Tim Boyd and Warren Mackey.
The expenditures add to $75,000 in discretionary funds spent two weeks ago spent at the request of Sabrena Smedley and Marty Haynes.
Then, the commission passed a $60,000 expense for Smedley to help build a restroom facility at East Hamilton Middle/High School. And commissioners passed a $15,000 expense by Haynes to buy thermal imaging cameras for the Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department.
