A 17-year-old boy was shot twice near the corner of 38th Street and Chandler Avenue around 1 p.m. today, according to police.

Investigators responded to a call of shots fired at 400 W. 38th Street and found the wounded teenager.

The boy, who will not be identified because he is a minor, is the second person to be shot on W. 38th Street during the last 13 hours.

Around midnight today, 28-year-old Ladarius L. Johnson was shot in front of the Southside Market at 200 W. 38th Street.

He told police he was outside the store when he heard gunshots. He ran inside and realized he had been shot.

Johnson flagged down a police officer who called EMS, which took him to a hospital.

Police say the victims in both shootings suffered non-life threatening wounds.
