Boone, N.C. has fallen to Chattanooga, Tenn. in Outside Magazine's 2015 "Best Town Ever" competition.

The voting in the March Madness-style tournament inspired social media campaigns and in-town "Beat Boone" camaraderie as Chattanoogans pushed for a repeat of the town's 2011 title win.

Chattanooga now faces off against Eau Claire, Wis. in the final four of the competition. Voting for this round ends Thursday, May 28, 2015.
