A body was found floating in the Tennessee River this morning east of the Chickamauga Dam, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

A local fisherman reported the body just before 2 a.m., the release said.

The body was of a black male, police said. It was taken to the Hamilton County Medical Examiner's Office.

Foul play is not suspected at this time, the release stated.
