The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office was made aware of a social media post concerning the safety and security of a local high school Thursday afternoon.
The information was made available from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, a news release stated.
Hamilton County Sheriff's Office School Resource Officers were immediately notified and within just a few minutes the person responsible for the post was identified as a student attending a Hamilton County High School.
The student was detained and questioned by Hamilton County Sheriff's Office investigators. The student has been charged with false reporting under TCA 39-16-502.
The Sheriff's Office advises there is no viable threat to the school or the community as this time.
Because the suspect in this case is a juvenile and the fact that this incident is still under investigation, no further information will be released.
