Local traffic on U.S. Highway 27 and Interstate 24 will be slowed Sunday through Thursday nights as highway crews work to repair and stabilize concrete slabs on the roadways.

Starting Sunday night, crews will be working on southbound U.S. 27 between the U.S. 27/I-24 split and M.L. King Boulevard. Work will take place between 8:30 p.m.and 5:30 a.m. each night.

When that section is finished, crews will work on eastbound I-24 from the high bridge atop the Ridge Cut to Westside Drive and then to Germantown Road. The Germantown Road exit will be closed when the repair crews are nearby.

Drivers are urged to pay attention to variable message boards and overhead signs for information, and to drive with extra caution in work areas.

Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers will also be in the work area to assist with traffic control.
