EPB is reporting that power is out for hundreds of customers in the Chattanooga area tonight.

Two-hundred to 500 people have lost power in the Nickajack-Haletown area, according to the EPB website. Another 200-500 customers have lost power in the Signal Mountain area.

EPB spokesman John Pless said it's unclear why the power is out and that crews have been sent to investigate. He said it could be due to wind.

As of 11:25 p.m., EPB's Smart Grid is starting to restore power to customers, Pless said. By 1 a.m. power was restored to the Rossville-Fort Oglethorpe region, according to EPB's site.

This is a developing story. Stay with the Times Free Press for more details.
