A 55-year-old man was shot while leaving an apartment on East 28th St. in Chattanooga last night, police say.
The victim, Ernest Smith, arrived at a local hospital via a personal vehicle around 10:40 p.m., according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department. Smith was struck once in the left shoulder and is expected to survive, the release said.
Police say Smith was unable to provide suspect information. The investigation is ongoing.
