Police say Wonsik No, 51, was shot and killed this morning at New East Side Market.

No worked at the market, which is located across the street from the East Lake Courts public housing complex on 4th Avenue. Police arrived there around 9:45 a.m. after receiving a report of a person shot.

No's death is the twenty-first homicide in Chattanooga this year. The number of total shootings and homicides is at about the same level as the last two years - about 90 incidents.

Police have not release the names of any suspects, but said they are "actively investigating" the shooting.

Laquette Colvin, a regular customer at the store, said she was shocked on Monday to walk to the store and find police swarming the parking lot.

"I've never seen things so tragic," Colvin said this afternoon from the steps of her front porch. "I think [No] really cared for the neighborhood."
