An unnamed Bradley County deputy was hit tonight by a vehicle driven by Cleveland City Commissioner Charlie McKenzie while directing traffic, according to a press release from the Bradley County Sheriff's office.

The deputy was transported to Tennova Medical Center, formerly Skyridge Medical Center, for medical attention, according to the release. The extent of the injuries are unknown at this time.

The incident occurred while the deputy was directing traffic tonight at a special event off Urbane Rd.

Tennessee Highway Patrol is currently investigating the incident.
