UPDATE: Detectives investigating after man shot in Hixson

Violent attacks since April 17

A man claiming to have been shot showed Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputies a graze wound late Wednesday night, according to a press release from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

Hamilton County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call after the victim went to 435 Sevier Street telling the home owners he had been shot.

Deputies arrived at the scene to investigate the call that came in shortly after 10:30 p.m., according to Hamilton County's 9-1-1 dispatch. They found the victim who showed them the injury. It was not considered to be life-threatening, according to the release.

Deputies did not locate a crime scene, according to the release. Detectives are investigating the scene and questioning the victim to gain additional information.

The shooting is at least the 11th in the last five days in Chattanooga.
