Motorcyclist dies in accident involving Tenn. patrol officer

HALETOWN, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Highway Patrol says an accident involving a patrol officer on Interstate 24 has left a motorcyclist dead.

Lt. John Harmon tells media outlets that the motorcycle and highway patrol car collided Saturday afternoon along I-24 near Haletown in Marion County.

Harmon says the identity of the motorcycle driver is being withheld pending notification of relatives. No one else was injured.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating.
