Missing suspect found stabbed and shot in Hamilton County

The alleged suspect in an early morning domestic assault in Hamilton County was arrested at Erlanger Hospital after being stabbed and shot.

Joseph Perkins was allegedly stabbed and shot after assaulting a woman early April 26.

Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputies responded at 3:20 a.m. to 9126 Westminster Circle after a call about a domestic assault.

Perkins, 36, was identified as the suspect, according to a release from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office. However, he had left the scene before police arrived.

Deputies left the victim to get a warrant for Perkins' arrest, according to the release. However, he returned to the scene while deputies were gone and attacked the woman again, according to the victim who was not identified.

The victim told deputies Perkins was stabbed and shot during the altercation. They later found him after he emerged from the woods and was lying in the street, according to the release.

He was taken to Erlanger Hospital where he was treated and later arrested once released. He was charged on outstanding warrants for aggravated burglary and vandalism along with the domestic assault charge for the incident. Perkins was also charged with domestic assault and vandalism for the second incident at the Westminster Circle property.

The assault is not believed to be gang related, according to the release.
