Four Fort Payne men arrested on drug charges

Four men from Fort Payne were arrested on drug charges Thursday in DeKalb County when deputies with the Sheriff's Office found them while serving a warrant.

Agents with the DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Unit accompanied deputies to a home on County Road 271, to serve a warrant for felony distribution of a controlled substance to Ronald Dewayne Jones, 36, according to a release from Sheriff Jimmy harris.

When they arrived, multiple people were standing in the front yard and authorities found three of the suspects were in possession of drug paraphernalia. Agents were given consent to search the home where they found more controlled substances and paraphernalia.

Jones and Anthony Brandon Burrows, 29, were charged with felony distribution of a controlled substance as well as unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

William Lonnie Jones, 36, was only charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and Rustin Michael Kruckenburg, 29, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana 2nd degree and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sheriff Harris said, "I would like to thank the agents of the DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Unit and deputies that work alongside each other to investigate and arrest drug offenders in our county."
