Around 6:30 a.m. fire engulfed a tractor-trailer rig parked outside the Chattanooga Labeling Systems company at 120 Parmenas Lane.
A large propane tank was between the truck and the building. The company's employees tried to extinguish the fire with portable fire extinguishers, but were unsuccessful.
Chattanooga firefighters arrived moments later and worked to get the fire under control. The tractor-trailer rig was destroyed, but the firefighters were successful in preventing the propane tank from becoming involved.
No injuries were reported. The trailer was loaded with empty glass bottles. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
