A Dairy Queen employee was robbed in the parking lot outside the restaurant on Gunbarrel Road at about 9:30 a.m. today and the suspect fled in the employee's car, according to Chattanooga police.
The suspect has not been identified, but is described as a black man who was wearing a gray and white T-shirt.
The carjacking and robbery happened at 2118 Gunbarrel Road, and the suspect was last seen fleeing toward Shallowford Road in a Navy blue Volkswagen, according to police.
The suspect was reported to be armed with a firearm. The Dairy Queen employee has not been publicly identified and was not harmed during the attack.
The 2012 Volkswagen has a Tennessee license plate, number R7113R.
Police ask anyone who sees the vehicle to immediately call 911.
