Deputies: Dozens arrested in child-sex sting in east Georgia

SPRINGFIELD, Ga. - Dozens of people, including a former elementary school principal, have been arrested in a child-sex sting in east Georgia.

According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Effingham County sheriff's officials say 40 people ranging in age from 17 to 57 were arrested over the summer for trying to have sex with children.

Officials say suspects were lured to Effingham and Chatham counties over the past 10 weeks by deputies posing as underage children on the internet.

The suspects were arrested on child molestation and computer pornography charges

WSAV-TV reports former Portal Elementary Principal Paul Hudson was arrested in July accused of trying to have sex with a 15-year-old girl. Deputies say Hudson left an open house at Portal and traveled to Effingham to meet the girl, but found deputies instead.
