A 16-year-old boy was shot in the foot outside the Chuck E. Cheese's restaurant in Hixson around 10:30 p.m. Thursday night, according to Chattanooga police.
The teenager, who has not been identified because he is a minor, showed up at a local hospital with the wound, which was not life-threatening.
Investigators believe the boy was shot during a drug deal that happened in the parking lot outside the pizza-and-party restaurant at 200 Northgate Mall Drive after business hours.
"We weren't here, and we have no idea what happened," said Abbie Hanson, manager at Chuck E. Cheese's.
The store closes at 9 p.m. on Thursday nights.
The shooting was part of a violent week in Chattanooga - since Sunday, one man was shot to death and seven other people have been wounded in shootings, including a 22-month-old toddler who was shot while on the front porch of a home in Alton Park on Wednesday.
Police say all of those incidents - two triple shootings, a homicide and the toddler's shooting - are related to an ongoing gang fight between two rival groups.
Like the 16-year-old shot at Chuck E. Cheese's, many of the people shot during the week were juveniles. Half of the week's eight victims were in their late teens, and all victims were younger than 31.
The shooting at Chuck E. Cheese's does not appear to be related to the other violence, according to police.
