A Chattanooga lawyer has been suspended from practice for ignoring a complaint filed against him, according to the Board of Professional Responsibility.

Terry Shane Hensley was ordered Tuesday to stop accepting clients and to put his entire practice on hold by Sept. 15, board spokeswoman Rita Hale said in a news release.

The release said Hensley "has failed to respond to the Board regarding a complaint of misconduct." It gave no details of the alleged misconduct, but said state Supreme Court rules provide for the "immediate summary suspension of an attorney's license to practice law" in such cases.

Hensley is required to notify all his clients, co-counsel and opposing counsel of his suspension, which will remain in effect until the Supreme Court dissolves or modifies the order.
