Three people are in the hospital after three separate shootings in less than a day.

The first shooting took place at approximately 2:15 a.m. Tuesday morning on the 1300 block of E. 36th Street, according to a press release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

The victim arrived at a local hospital in a personal vehicle and told police the injuries were the result of being shot in a robbery during which the victim "struggled" with the suspect. The victim's injury was not life-threatening.

Shortly before 2:45 p.m., a 21-year-old man suffering minor injuries was also transported to a local hospital in a personally-owned vehicle.

The victim said he was walking down an unknown alley when he heard the gunshot but could not provide a description of the suspect.

Police officers were seen on the 4000 block of Rossville Boulevard attempting to determine a crime scene within an hour of the shooting.

Finally, early Tuesday evening, Elisa Myzal, a spokeswoman for the Chattanooga Police Department, confirmed another victim in a separate shooting suffered a single gunshot wound to the leg that was not life threatening.

The victim in that shooting, Ruben Williams, 20, is a validated gang member who showed up at the hospital and said he took a cab to get there.

Williams said he was walking down the street when he was shot, but gave multiple locations of the shooting to police, describing the suspect as a black male wearing a black hoodie.

Officers were unable to locate a crime scene.
