Daniel Tomanelli, an eighth grade student at East Hamilton Middle School, was struck by a car which ran off the road in East Ridge and critically injured him.
Daniel sustained life-threatening injuries including brain trauma, several broken bones, loss of permanent teeth and internal injuries. After five surgeries, he is still alive and improving each day, but he will be recovering in the hospital for many weeks.
The driver of the car who hit him had no insurance. Daniel's mother, Nancy Tomanelli will be faced with large medical bills and many weeks with loss of income. She has been, and will continue to be, beside Daniel until he fully recovers.
