A Gordon County man has been charged with murdering his wife at their home on Trimble Hollow.
According to a news release, deputies with the Gordon County Sheriff's office arrived at the scene shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday night and met with Jonathan Carringer, 33, who said he found his wife, Annie Carringer, 33, dead when he came home.
The Sheriff's Crime Scene Unit as well as the Georgia Burea of Investigation spent several hours at the scene collecting evidence as detectives questioned witnesses.
The body was sent to the state crime laboratory in Decatur, Georgia for examination.
On Thursday morning detectives with the Sheriff's office arrested and charged Jonathan Carringer with murder. He is being held in the Gordon County jail.
The investigation is ongoing.
