The first incident occurred near mile marker 172 east of the Tennessee Welcome Center about 7:40 pm. Another incident was reported about 10:55 p.m. at the same location.
The right lane was blocked but was cleared by midnight, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation website.
Westbound traffic was not affected by the accidents.
